After the earthquake in Sichuan Province in May 2008, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government established a $1.675 billion Trust Fund in Support of Reconstruction in the Sichuan Earthquake Stricken Areas that is supporting 35 medical projects to help victims through recovery and rehabilitation. The first completed project is the in-patient block of the Mental Health Care Hospital in Meishan, which was completed in January.
